Neal & Massy boosts activity

GraceKennedy Ltd grabbed the top spot with 394,560 shares exchanging hands for $3.36 million.

Despite losing $4.99 on its way to $60.00, Neal & Massy Holdings Ltd boosted the day’s activity with 339,209 shares crossing the floor of the Exchange for the highest trade value of $20.37 million. Other major contributors included Trinidad Cement Ltd, Sagicor Financial Corporation, National Enterprises Ltd and Angostura Holdings Ltd, which traded 163,941 shares, 144,633 shares, 135,325 shares and 130,713 shares for trade values of $1.76 million, $2.89 million, $1.69 million and $1.05 million, in that order. These figures brought overall trade volume to 1.46 million shares and value to $35.47 million, an increase of 306 per cent from the previous day.

Readymix (West Indies) Ltd added another $0.50 to close on $26.00, while West Indian Tobacco Company Ltd and Trinidad Publishing Company Ltd gained $0.36 and $0.24 closing on $30.51 and $22.25 respectively.

Ansa McAl Ltd, Scotiabank Trinidad & Tobago Ltd and Republic Bank Ltd witnessed price increases of $0.14, $0.11 and $0.05 as they ended the day on $60.72, $41.11 and $102.20 in that order.

Angostura Holdings Ltd inched forward by $0.04 to $7.99, while National Commercial Bank Jamaica Ltd ticked up $0.01 to $2.05. Meanwhile, National Enterprises Ltd fell by $0.10 down to $12.50.

There was no activity on the mutual fund, second tier and bond markets. All three indices witnessed a reversal in fortune, with the Composite Index shedding 4.73 points on its way to 1,163.17 and the All T&T Index dropping 10.18 points down to 1,544.51, while the Cross Listed Index gained 0.07 points moving back up to 96.34.
